Camping World Rewards & Discounts: Good Sam Membership Stacking
Camping World Rewards & Discounts: Good Sam Membership Stacking
Camping World runs its rewards through Good Sam membership. There is a free Basic tier, two paid tiers called Standard and Elite, and a Good Sam Rewards Credit Card that adds a second layer of points. You earn points across the family of brands: Camping World, Overton's, Good Sam products and services, The House and Good Sam Campgrounds. You can spend them at fewer stores than that. Which tier pays for itself, and how does the card stack on top of it?

Camping World operates more than 200 locations where it sells new and used RVs, outdoor gear, and camping supplies.
How It Works
Basic members earn 1 point per dollar on qualifying purchases. Standard and Elite members earn 5, which comes to 5% back on qualifying retail purchases. Points are calculated after coupons and discounts and before tax, and the dollar amount rounds down, so $2.02 earns as $2. Points show up within 72 hours of the purchase (24 to 48 on the club page, 48 to 72 in the terms). On mail, special and online orders, the purchase may not count as complete until the items ship. To earn or redeem, enter your Good Sam membership number at checkout.
Every 500 points is worth $5. The minimum redemption is 1,000 points ($10 off). After that, points redeem in 500-point ($5) steps, up to 50,000 points ($500) in one transaction. Points come off after promotional offers and discounts and before tax and shipping. You can't spend points on the order that earned them, because redeeming takes an additional qualifying purchase. Points expire 12 months after they post, and closing a Basic membership wipes out all of its points immediately.
Good Sam's pages don't agree on where you can spend points. The list is either Camping World, Overton's and RVs.com locations or Camping World and Overton's. For points earned through membership, it is Camping World only. Camping World is the only store on all three lists.
Basic is free. As of October 25, 2026, Standard costs $39 a year and comes with 1,000 welcome points ($10 value). Elite costs $149 a year and comes with 3,000 welcome points ($30 value). Welcome points can take up to 72 hours to appear. Both paid tiers renew automatically every year until you cancel. Cancelling more than 30 days before the expiration date avoids the renewal charge.
What You Can Earn
- Up to 10 points per dollar with the card — the Good Sam Rewards Credit Card pays 5% back in points at Camping World, Good Sam and Overton's. Added to the membership rate, that makes up to 10 points per $1.
- 5% or 3% on RV service, Standard and Elite only — Basic members can't earn points on RV service. For the paid tiers, customer-paid RV service earns 5% and warranty or insurance work earns 3%. The cap is $2,500 of service spend a year, and it resets January 1.
- 3% and 1% outside the family of brands — the Good Sam Rewards Visa pays 3% back in points at other campgrounds and gas stations and 1% everywhere else Visa is accepted.
How to Stack
- Settle membership before you build the cart. Basic costs nothing. If you plan to open the card, do that before you pay for Standard. New cardholders who open the Good Sam Rewards Credit Card and use it at the time of approval get a 1-year Good Sam Membership ($39 value). That's the same as the price of Standard.
- Enter the membership number at checkout. If you leave it off, the order earns no membership points and you can't redeem any.
- Pay with the Good Sam Rewards Credit Card as a regular charge. A purchase on a promotional credit plan earns no rewards. The card offers 6-month special financing on in-store purchases of $299 or more, but you get that financing instead of points. On a big in-store purchase, pick one or the other. Card points post automatically within 72 hours. Comenity Capital Bank issues the card.
- Leave gift cards out of the earning math. Gift cards and gift certificates don't earn points.
- Redeem on the next order. Once your balance passes 1,000 points, apply it in 500-point steps. The discount comes off after any promotion and before tax and shipping.
Worked Example: A $200 Camping World Order
Take a $200 online order before tax, with no coupon.
- Basic: 200 points. That's below the 1,000-point minimum, so Basic needs five orders this size within 12 months before the points can be spent.
- Standard or Elite: 1,000 points, worth $10. That clears the minimum for the next order.
- Standard or Elite plus the Rewards card: up to 2,000 points, worth $20.
- With a $20 coupon: points are figured after the coupon, so Standard earns on $180, which is 900 points.
- Rounding at the edge: a $199.99 cart earns on $199. On Standard that's 995 points, five short of the minimum on its own.
At $200, the order is over the $99 line on the shipping table, so Economy shipping is free (prices below). Good Sam members get free shipping on online orders above a minimum, but the minimum amount is not listed.
None of the points from this order can pay for it. On an online order, the points can wait until the items ship and then take up to 72 more hours to appear. They go toward the next qualifying purchase.
Member Discounts in Store and Online
The first four perks are exclusive to Standard and Elite members. The free Basic tier doesn't get them.
- Propane: 15% off at Camping World, taken off the regular retail price, with a 40-gallon limit.
- Dump stations: free access at over 150 participating Camping World locations.
- Campgrounds: 10% off the nightly rate at Good Sam Campgrounds.
- Member-only specials: items and prices vary between retail stores and online, while supplies last.
- Elite only: show your Elite membership number for 5% off installation fees. Elite also includes up to $500 a year in product protection on eligible Camping World retail purchases, plus the Elite Membership Concierge and Overnight Stays.
Returns and Shipping for Members
The standard policy lets you return most unused items within 90 days for a refund or exchange, minus shipping. Good Sam members who have kept their membership active without a break can return any unused, unopened product bought on February 9, 2018 or later, at any time.
Clearance and Outlet items are sold as is and can't be returned at any time, member or not.
Shipping prices by order size:
| Order total | Economy | Standard Ground | 2nd Day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under $99 | $11.95 | $14.95 | $24.95 |
| $99 or more | Free | $14.95 | $24.95 |
Free shipping only applies within the 48 contiguous states.
Bottom Line
Standard pays for itself at about $725 of qualifying Camping World spend in a year. It earns $4 more than Basic on every $100, and the $10 in welcome points brings the $39 fee down to $29. If you spend less than that, stay on Basic. The exceptions are if you'll use the propane, dump station or campground discounts, which Basic doesn't get, or if you're opening the Rewards card, which comes with a one-year Standard membership. Elite costs $110 more than Standard, adds $20 more in welcome points and earns at the same 5 points per dollar. Next step: join at the free Basic tier or higher, then enter the membership number on your next Camping World order.
